Highland High Football 2009

The Bungholios had a rough 2009, so the expectations for 2010 are tempered. They look to build a foundation that will hopefully lead to that ever elusive championship. Despite last year's disappointing record, they did acquire rookie wideouts DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal, and both figure to be in the Bungholio lineup for at least the immediate future. With the third overall pick, Ohio State RB Chris "Beanie" Wells fell into the Bungholios lap, and the hope is he will be their top-tier RB for years to come. That aside, any success this year may rest on CFFL 2007 MVP Tom Brady, who returns from an injury that sidelined him for virtually all of 2008.

December 13 2008
Highland High Officially Out, Tied For Second Worst Record Overall

Matt Cassel wasn't Tom Brady, and the Bungholios fell far short of their expectations.

The Bungholios climbed to great heights last season, only to see themselves fall the same distance this season. Theie season was punctuated by a season-ending loss to the division-champ Jolly Ranchers, 108-88.

With several chances to fight for a playoff spot, Highland High came up short each time. The Bungholios failed down the stretch, losing six of their final seven contests, finishing 5-9, fifth out of sixth in the division and assuring themselves of the third pick in next years draft.

The season was a downer from jump: The Bungholios kept three running back on their roster for this year. However, they didn't hold over DeAngelo Williams, who had a monster year this year after go three lackluster seasons as a Bungholio. 2007 CFFL MVP Tom Brady had a season-ending injury in week one, and neither Jake Delhomme or Matt Cassel provided consistent quarterback play. While their draft did produce Eddie Royal, the rest of the draft did not live up to expectations.

In short, 2008 is a season Highland High will want to forget. Next year will bring new opportunities, and the bar may not be set so high as they once again will establish a foundation for success.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Packer RB Brandon Jackson. Released Packers Defense.

Bungholios Fumbling Away Season, Lose Second Straight, Playoff Chances Reduced To Doubtful

Rookie Eddie Royal has been a highlight to what has been a disappointing season.

So close. Maybe it wasn't meant to be this year...again. In a game they needed to have, the Bungholios came up two points short, falling 111-109 to the Dawgs.

The defeat was the second straight for Highland High, who only have one win in their last six contests. The loss guarantees a losing record for the 2008 regular season, the teams fourth in their history. They are one game behind Wapiti and tied with the Warrior Pride for the last playoff spot. To grab the final spot, Highland High will need to win their regular season finale at the division-leading Jolly Ranchers and hope Wapiti loses. Even if this scenario happens, the Bungholios will be at the mercy of tie-breakers. They will need a lot to go right in week 14 to salvage their season.

Cassel's Brilliant Day Offset By Complete Lack Of Support

Matt Cassel had a tremendous 58 points, but the rest of the team only contributed 28 points.

Matt Cassel was very Brady-esque in week 12, passing for 415 yards with four TDs (one of which was rushing). However, he was the only one to save the Bungholios from complete embarassment. Warrior Pride didn't have a great game either, but they scored enough, sending Highlnad High to a 86-97 defeat.

The defeat reels Highland High into a three-way tie for the third and final playoff spot with two games to go. They are tied with Wapiti and Warrior Pride and one game behind the second place Dawgs, where Highland High will travel in the second-to-last week of the regular season.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Bucs RBs Carnell Willams and Cardinals RB J.J. Arrington. Released Ravens RB Le'Ron McClain, Ravens and Browns kicker Phil Dawson.

November 20 2008
Barber Surges B-Holes To Victory, Snap Three Game Skid

Marion Barber returned to early-season form, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown.

In a game Highland High needed to win, the team responded with solid performances from Marion Barber and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The final result: A 149-126 Highland High victory. The 149 points was the most scored by any team for the week.

The win elevates Highland High to a 5-6 mark, one game ahead of Wapiti for the third playoff spot with three weeks to go. With control of their own destiny, the Bungholios visit division rival Warrior Pride, who are also one game behind the Bungholio Nation.

9-1 Revenge Too Much; 'Holios Lose 3rd In A Row

Rookie Eddie Royal had the Bungholios off to a strong start with 164 yards and a TD, but Highland High couldn't sustain it.

The CFFL playoffs are coming quick and Highland High's recent slide continues. The Revenge flexed their one-loss muscles, sending the Bungholios to a 171-122 defeat, their third in a row.

The loss drops the Bungholios to 4-6, still tied with Wapiti for the third and final playoff spot with four weeks to go. Both teams are two games behind the Dawgs. With the trade deadline come and gone, Highland High will bank their hopes on their existing roster to make a run at the playoffs. The Bungholios will host division-rival Groin Pullers this weekend.

Second Straight Subpar Bungholio Performance Nets 76 Points

Rookie Eddie Royal did catch a TD, but the Bungholios did little else in week nine.

It's now the latter part of the CFFL season and Highland High is going in the wrong direction fast. With a chance to solidify playoff positioning, Highland High fell flat against division rival Wapiti, losing 97-76.

The loss drops the Bungholios to 4-5 and tied with Wapiti for the third playoff spot with five weeks to go. Both teams are two games behind the Dawgs. The Bungholios will have an interdivisional matchup this weekend as they travel to the Revenge, who lead their division with an 8-1 record.

Delhomme Loses Support, Three Game Win Streak Snapped

Jake Delhomme had 248 yards passing and two TDs, but that was pretty much it for Highland High in week 8.

The Bungholios took a step back in week 8, as Jake Delhomme was the nly starter who put up any quality numbers. The result: A 129-95 loss to the division-leading Jolly Ranchers.

The loss snaps the Bungholio win streak at three and drops their record to 4-4. They drop to third place in the division, only one game up on Wapiti, who come to Highland High this weekend in an important divisional matchup.

Delhomme & Co. Push Bungholio Win Streak to Three

Jake Delhomme came through with a productive two-TD day.

It's already the halfway point in the CFFL season and the Bungholios seem to gave gotten back on track after a 1-3 start. Jake Delhomme and Marion Barber came through once again with good performances, powering Highland High past the Molerats 141-134. The 141 points is a season high for the Bungholios.

The win pushes the Bungholio win streak to three and their record to 4-3. The win has them tied for second place with the Dawgs. The first-place Jolly Ranchers will visit Highland High this weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Panthers WR Muhsin Muhammad; released Saints WR David Patten.

October 14 2008
Barber Pushes Bungholios To Second Straight Win

Marion Barber had a mediocre day running (45 yards) but had 128 yards receiving and a TD.

The Bungholios had another underwhelming outing, but despite a couple of zero performers (Delhomme's inefficiency and Royal's injury) the Bungholios had enough against a similarly struggling Revival team 102-77. Marion Barber was again the star, racking up 32 points.

The win evens the Bungholio record to 3-3 and keeps them alone in third lace in the division. Highland High will host the Molerats in an interdivisional matchup this weekend.

Delhomme, Houshmandzadeh Put Highland High Back in Win Column

Jake Delhomme's week 5 effort helped the Bungholios snap a two-game skid.

The Bungholios got back in the win column. Jake Delhomme and T.J. Houshmandzadeh came through with good performances, sending Warrior Pride to defeat 126-107.

The win moves the Bungholio record to 2-3, and despite the losing record, they are alone in third lace in the division. Highland High hopes to old on to its position as they travel to the Revival this coming weekend.

September 30 2008
Bungholios Tripped Up, Lose Second Straight

Earnest Graham came through with over 100 yard running and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough.

What was suppose to be the year the Bungholios make noise and make a championship run has turned into a season, thus far, of missed opportunities. The Dawgs squeaked by Highland High 114-107 as Hihgland High again rolled snake-eyes with determining which WR lineup will maximize production.

QB Jake Delhomme came through with a pair of touchdowns, so he could not be blamed. Still the Bungholios are 1-3 and hope to snap the losing streak as they travel to Warrior Pride.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Ravens RB Le'Ron McClain; released Redskin TE Chris Cooley.

September 24 2008
Another Sad QB Outing Stymies Highland High

Marion Barber's effort couldn't leap the Bungholios past the Moose Drool.

The good news: Jake Delhomme's week 3 performance was the best by a Bungolhio starting QB this year. Bad news...he only produced seven points. With Earnest Graham and the receivers having a subpar day, Highland High succumbed to the Moose Drool 132-103. Marion Barber continues to be impressive, contributing 30 points.

This year Bungholio QBs have produced 12 points total in three games, an average of four points a contest, a stark contrast from last season, where CFFL MVP Tom Brady produced a shade over 50 points a game. In week 4, Highland High (1-2) hopes Jake Delhomme can turn it around as they host the undefeated Dawgs.

Barber and Co.: Effort Nets First Win

Marion Barber's strong performance Monday night (2 TDs) solidified Highland High's first W of 2008.

No Brady, no problem. Even with new starting QB Jake Delhomme's struggle, Marion Barber, Earnest Graham, Hines Ward and rookie Eddie Royal were all strong in week 2, sending Wapiti to defeat 151-102.

The win improved the Bungholio record to 1-1. Moose Drool (1-1) will come to Highland High for the Bungholio's first home game.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Patriot QB Matt Cassel; releaed Saint RB Aaron Stecker.

September 9 2008
Bungholios Drop Opener, Lose Brady For The Year

Last year's record-setting CFFL MVP Tom Brady is out for the year due to injury.

The Bungholio goal of a championship may hav taken a serious hit when Tom Brady's injury in week one will sideline him for the rest of the season. To add insult to injury, the defending CFFL Champion Groin Pullers squeaked out a 120-107 victory. The Bungholios already matched their regular season loss total of last year while losing their biggest weapon.

Despite the injury, the Bungholios are still very optimistic about their season. Hines Ward validated why Highland High selected him in the first round. Marion Barber continues to be solid. They feel confident that backup QB Jake Delhomme will adequately take over his position, and both of the rookie wideouts they drafted, DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal, look like stars in the making. Both could see starts as soon as this week.

Week two will see the Bungholios attempting to get back on track as they travel to Wapiti.

September 1 2008
Bungholios Reload For 2008

Highland High drafted with the 'win now' mentality, selecting Hines Ward in the first round.

After a strong 13-1 regular season, utter disappointment followed in the playoffs, losing their only playoff game to the eventual champion Groin Pullers. This year, many of the important cogs to that 13-1 season are present, most notably Tom Brady, who had the finest season of any player in CFFL history. While many other team drafted high profile rookies (as is the norm), the Bungholios used the first three picks to flesh out a roster geared for another run at the title. This time, Hines Ward, Fred Taylor and Chris Cooley will join Brady, Marion Barber, Earnest Graham and T.J. Houshmandzadeh are entering the season with one goal in mind: The CFFL Championship, which has thus far eluded the franchise.

Highland High did select a couple of rookie wideouts they are very high on. DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal were selected in the later rounds. The Bungholios hope at least one will be worthy of starter status by season's end.

After what the Bungholios consider to be arguably their best draft ever, expectations are sky high. Their first game will be a solid test as to where Highland High stands as they travel to the defending CFFL Champion Groin Pullers.

Will this finally be the year?

Great Season Goes For Naught: Highland High Falls In Playoffs

Tom Brady (12) and his Highland High teammates are on the bad end of a major playoff upset.

Disappointment. Frustration. These are feelings that surface during many a Bungholios playoff run. But this might be the hardest loss Bungholio Nation has suffered in the franchise's history. After tearing through the regular season with a 13-1 mark, the Bungholios will have precious little to show for it as they failed to qualify for the CFFL Super Bowl. The Groin Pullers, fresh off upsetting Wapiti in round one, stun Highland High 122-101. It was only their second loss, but by far the costliest.

The usually reliable Earnest Graham and Mason Crosby came up short. Tom Brady put up decent numbers, but they were far below his season average. And the Packer defense failed to score a point.

Highland High will face a long offseason of what-ifs and what-might-have-beens. There is a beacon of hope as many of the names that made the 13 win season possible will likely return. Now the hope is they can reverse their trend of first round draft pick busts, catch lightning in a bottle, and to not only participate in the 2008 CFFL Super Bowl but to earn that elusive championship.

Bungholio Nation hopes 2008 will be the year.

Bungholios Earn Team Record 13th Regular Season Win, 100th Victory All Time

Tom Brady concluded the regular season with another extraordinary performance, this time racking up 61 points.

The Bungholios finishes the regualr season strong, hoping the momentum will carry into their next playoff game in two weeks. Behind another stellar Tom Brady performannce Highland High finishes the season 13-1 with a 185-138 win over Warrior Pride. Marion Barber contributed with three touchdowns of his own.

The win closed out the most successful reaglar season in Highland High history. The 13-1 record is tied for second best in league history (the Colonels achieved a 14-0 mark in 2001 and 13-1 in 1999). The win is also the 100th regular season victory for the team, which puts them in second place for total wins (they started the season fourth all-time in wins) behind the Lake Edna Colonels (104).

With the division title in hand Highland High will enjoy a playoff bye and face the winner of Grion Puller/Wapiti matchup for the right to go to the CFFL Super Bowl. The Bungholios have not been to the big game since 1999 and have yet to win the championship.

Bungholio Nation hopes this will be the year.

Highland High Bungholios:
WESTERN DIVISION CHAMPS!

Running back Earnest Graham pushed Highland High to its first division crown since 1995.

Highland High won the Western Division title in 1995, the first year of the CFFL. The next eleven seasons would see Highland High compete but never quite regaining that form...until now. After a 123-110 victory over Wapiti, the team that kept pace with the Bungholios all season, Highland High has become division champions. The championship will give the Bungholios a first round bye and have them only one playoff victory away from reaching the CFFL Super Bowl.

The season sweep of Wapiti pushes the Bungholio record to 12-1, tied for the most wins ever by a Bungholio team. With one game to go there is still pride at stake for Highland High: A win in the regular season finale at Warrior Pride will set a new Bungholio season record for wins (and tie for second best ever in the league) and will give the Bungholios 100 regualr season victories in the franchise's history.

Brady, Highland High Roll To 11th Win, Division Crown In Sight!

Tom Brady only had one TD pass, but still had a 30+ point performance.

This was perhaps the best kind of win. Tom Brady wasn't spectacular, but was solid. More importantly, Marion Barber, Earnest Graham and Isaac Bruce came through with touchdowns and produced solid numbers, supporting Brady and propelling Highland High to a 132-109 victory over the Dawgs.

The Bungholios record improves to 11-1, while second place Wapiti is in second place at 10-2. The Bungholios visit Wapiti this weekend in a crucial divisional matchup. A Bungholio victory will grant them their second division tile in their history and first since the inaugural season of the CFFL in 1995.

The eleven wins are the second most in franchise history.

This last weekend saw Ahman Green's tenure with Highland High come to an end as he was released. He was part of the team since the Bungholios acquired him as a free agent in 2000.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Saints RB Deuce McAllister and Dolphins RB Rickey Williams; released Giants RB Derrick Ward and Texans RB Ahman Green.

Brady's Big Return Sparks Bungholios To Victory--Barely

Highland High needed every one of Tom Brady's 66 points to stave off the Groin Pullers.

The Bungholios got Tom Brady back from the bye week, and this week they needed every bit of his fantasy genius. His 66-point contribution helped the Bungholios squeak past division rival Groin Pullers 166-165.

The Bungholios record improves to 10-1, still tied with Wapiti (who also won this weekend) with three weeks left in the regualr season. With three games remaining in the regular season both Highland High and Wapiti have clinched playoff berths. Both are competing for the divisional crown and first round bye.

The ten regualar season wins are the third most ever by a Bungholio team and are only three regular season victories away from 100 regular season victories for the franchise.

With three games remaining in the regular season both Highland High and Wapiti have clinched playoff berths. Both are competing for the divisional crown and first round bye.

Highland High next travels to the Dawgs in a divisional matchup.

No Brady, No Win; Nine Game Streak Snapped

Backup QB Kurt Warner was solid in relief, but had limited support.

The bye week brought about absences of Tom Brady and Earnest Graham. Fill-in Kurt Warner did well in relief (37 points) but had little support. The Flounders ended the Bungholios unbeaten streak to a score of 155-115. Still, the nine game streak was the second by the Bungholios since their 11 game win streak in 1995, the first year of the CFFL (that streak was also ended by the Flounders).

The Bungholios record drops to 9-1, in a tie with the Wapiti who share the same record. Both teams have officially clinched playoff berths, but Highland High currently holds the tiebreaker as they handed Wapiti their lone loss. Both teams will play the final four games--including a week 13 showdown against each other--with the chance to win the division and earn the first-round bye.

The race for the division begins as Highland High next hosts the Groin Pullers.

Brady, Bungholios Still Flying High

A relative off-week for Tom Brady as he produced "only" 35 points.

Another week, another solid Tom Brady performance. His 255 yard, 3TD-2INT performace is well below the pace he set the last couple weeks. Still, he produced 30+ points and helped Highland High sweep Ben Roethlisberger (5 TDS) and division rival Jolly Ranchers 151-90.

The Bungholios pushed their record to 9-0, still only one game up on Wapiti. Although not official it appears Highland High has clinched a playoff spot. The nine regualar season wins are the most by a Bungholio team since the 1996 season when they went 10-4. This next week Highland High travels without Brady (bye) to the Flounders.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Saints WR David Patten; released Falcon QB Byron Leftwich.

8-0! Brady's Bunch Does It Again!

Three TD passes AND two rushing touchdowns. Is there anything Tom Brady can't do?

The second half of the season kicked off and the Bungholios keep on rolling. Tom Brady did it again with three touchdown passes and two rushing TDs (another obscene point total, this time 68 points), sending their divisional rival Warrior Pride to defeat 123-102.

At 8-0 the Bungholios lead the division, but they are only one game up on Wapiti, who's only loss came versus Highland High in week 3. This next week Highland High keeps it in the division, this time hosting the 1-7 Jolly Ranchers.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Cardinal QB Kurt Warner; released Panther WR Dwayen Jarrett.

October 23 2007
Brady's 79 Points Sets New Single Game CFFL Record

Tom Brady's 79 points not only tops his own team record he set last week but eclipses the league mark.

Tom Brady continues his statistical onslaught. His 21 of 25, 354 yard, 6 touchdown no interception performance is good enough for 79 points, a new single game league record. T.J. Housmandzadeh, Donte Stallworth and Marion Barber each pitched in with a touchdown a piece, propelling the Bungholios to their seventh victories in as many games, defeating the eastern Division leading Moose Drool 174-149. The 174 points was good for tops in the league for the week.

The CCFL regular season is already half over and Highland High is reaping the rewards of Brady's record setting performances. The 7-0 Bungholios host the Warrior Pride in a divisional matchup.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Falcon QB Byron Leftwich and Packer K Mason Crosby; released Cardinal QB Kurt Warner and Dolphin K Jay Feely.

Brady's Record Setting Performance Pushes Bungholio Win Streak To Six

Tom Brady: 388 yards passing, 5 TD passes for a Bungholios-record 70 points.

Highland High continue their streak. Tom Brady throws for 300+ yards and five touchdowns, T.J. Housmandzadeh has two TDs with over 100 yards receiving and Donte Stallworth has a TD with over 100 yard receiving. The end result: a decesive 162-111 victory over the Colonels.

The Bungholios are now 6-0, already eclipsing their win total of last season (five).

The Bungholios host the eastern-division leading Moose Drool this weekend.

Bungholios: 5 Wins, 0 Losses!

Tom Brady continues to put up incredible numbers and is arguably the leagues MVP thus far.

The Bungholios are on a roll, one they haven't experienced since the first CFFL season. Highland High improved to 5-0 with a 103-92 victory over the Dawgs. Tom Brady again was terriffic, tossing three more touchdowns.

The win keeps the Bungholios as the lone undefeated team at 5-0. They lead Wapiti by one game, with the next team three back.

The Bungholios next travel to the Colonels for an interdivisional matchup.

Highland High Wins Battle Of Unbeatens

Tom Brady added three more touchdwons to his stellar 2007 stat sheet.

It was a battle of the last two unbeaten teams in the CCFL, but neither team generated much in the way of points. Still, with Tom Brady and T.J. Houshmandzadeh coming through Monday Night the Bungholios scored just enough for a 95-91 win.

The win put the Bungholios as the lone undefeated team at 4-0. The start is the second best in the history of the franchise; the 1995 Bungholio team began the year 11-0.

The Dawgs travel to Highland High for a divisional matchup.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Buccaneer RB Ernest Graham; released Cowboy WR Terry Glenn.

September 25 2007
Brady, Bungholios On Fire And 3-0!

Tom Brady: Four more touchdowns; 311 yards passing.

Tom Brady and Marion Barber are becoming quite the duo. Brady produced a 57 point effort while Marion Barber came through with two touchdwons (one rush, one receiving) and over 100 yards rushing, propelling the Bungholios to 3-0 with a 160-134 victory over the Revenge.

This Bungholios outfit is arguably putting together its best start in franchise history, even better than their inauguaral season of 1995, the first year of the CFFL, where they reeled off eleven straight victories to start the season. While the 1995 team was consistent, this year's model has been posting explosive numbers (170 point average last two weeks).

The Bungholios are one of two teams that are undefeated at 3-0; the other 3-0 team, Wapiti, visits the Bungholios this weekend in a crucial early divisional matchup to determine who has the league's best record after four weeks.

Marion Barber III continues his consistent performance for Bungholio Nation.

Tom Brady: 3 Touchdowns. T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Marion Barber: 2 touchdowns. Isaac Bruce: Over 100 receiving yards. The end result: 184 points, the most points the Bungholios have put up in a long time. More importantly, it generated a victory over divisional rival Joly Ranchers by a 184-147 final score.

The Bungholios could not ask for a better start; they are 2-0 with both victories coming against divisional foes. They will host the Revenge in a cross-divisuional matchup this weekend.

As expected Tom Brady came through with big number, throwing three touchdown passes.

He threw for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns ans the Bungholios opened their season with a 116-95 victory over the 2006 Western Champ Groin Pullers. Marion Barber and T.J. Houshmandzadeh each contributed with solid one touchdwon performance.

CFFL, Bungholios Transition Into 2007 Season

Tom Brady will lead the Bungholio Express in the 2007 season.

For the first time in league history defenses are now a part of team rosters and scoring. The Bungholios made history, being the first team to choose a defense, and they did so in the first round by selecting the Chicago Bear defense. They saw an opportunity to take the best at a position and took it. The Bungholios didn't quite draft everyone they wanted as teams were quicker to the trigger--most notably the Flounders, who, two picks before Highland High, selected players the team wanted on three occasions. Stll, optimism is high for the Bungholios as they anticipate QB Tom Brady to post huge numbers and hope running back DeAngelo Williams breaks out this year.

The first week of the season has the Bungholios traveling to Western Division champ Groin Pullers, who ousted the Bungholios last year in the Western Division Championship Game.

Bungholios Eliminated, Fall Short Of Monumental Upset By 5 Points

Tom Brady was efficient, but didn't have the support needed to knock off the Super Bowl bound Groin Pullers.

Highland High wasn't suppose to make it this far. Still, they had an opportunity to sneak into the Super Bowl as the Groin Pullers were far from their usual dominat selves. Leading into Monday's game the Bungholios had Donte Stallworth and Marion Barer and the Groin Pullers had Brian Westbrook. While Stallworth and Barber did little, Westbrook came through with a 100+ yard running performance. The end result is a 78-73 Bungholio defeat.

The Bungholios quest for their first CFFL championship is on hold for another year, but hope will be renewed for next season as Barber may be more of a fixture and DeAngelo Williams might be a solid, weekly contributor.

Bungholios Knock Out Defending CFFL Champs, Advance To Final Four!

Marion Barber came through with two more TDs, propelling the Bungholios to their first playoff win in six years.

Highland High was fortunate to qualify for the playoffs but they made the most of their opportunity in the first round. Tom Brady and Marion Barber each pitched in with two touchdowns, ending the season for the defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers 102-96. The playoff victory was the first for Highland High in six years.

The Bungholios continue their quest for their first ever CFFL Championship but the road is a daunting one. They will go for arguably the biggest upset in CFFL playoff history as they face Ladanian Tomlinson and the division champ Groin Pullers. The winner will advance to the 12th annual CFFL Super Bowl. The Groin Pullers won both contests versus the Bungholios during the regular season, including a contest decided by one point in week 5.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Browns wide receiver Joe Jurevicius. Released Packer running back Noah Herron.

Bungholios Lose Season Finale, Finish 5-9, Sneak In Playoffs Anyhow

T.J. Houshamdzadeh had 118 yards and a score for the playoff-bound Bungholios.

Last year Highland High went 8-6 and failed to qualify for the playoffs; this year, Highland High posts a 5-9 record...and is participating in the post season. Go figure. The Bungholios lose their season finale to the Mosse Drool 130-70. The Jolly Ranchers did win this weekend, raising their record to 6-8 and qailifying for post season play. Highland High and the three other teama vying for the playoffs ended their regular season at 5-9. Because of the Bungholios divison record and since several other teams in the division could not secure a win, the Bungholios will snap their two year absence from the playoffs. This is only the third losing season in franchise history, but the second time which the Bungholios made the playoffs with a losing record.

The first round pits the Bungholios versus the Jolly Ranchers. The Bungholios faced the Joly Ranchers Highland High's most recent playoff appearance (2003), losing 162-87.

Barber, Bungholios Save Best Performance of Season For Dawgs

The Bungholios scored a season best 129 points and it was timely and needed. They outlast the Dawgs 129-122 as Marion Barber ran for 90 yearda and scored two TDs. Tom Brady failed to throw for a TD but threw for over 300 yards, Ahman Green rushed for over 100 yard and wideouts T.J. Housmandzadeh and Donte Stallworth each had a touchdown and over 100 yards apiece.

The win snaps Highland High's two game losing streak and improves their record to 5-8 and is in a four-way tie for second place with Wapiti, Wolfpack and defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers with one game reamining in the season. As of this writing no scenario has been made for how the teams can advance. The Bungholios can make a strong case in their last regular season matchup as they face the playoff-bound Mosse Drool in a cross-divisional matchup.

Bungholios No Match For Flounders

Running back Marion Barber has earned his way as a permanent starter with is recent play.

The Bungholios ran into a buzzsaw named the Flounders this last weekend, dropping 140 points on Highland High en route to a 140-93 rout. Some good news for the Bungholios: Marion Barber's two TD performance was a highlight and as solidified himself as a starter.

The loss drops Highland High's record to 4-8 and still alive for a playoff berth with only two weeks left in the regular season. The Wapiti and Wolfpack are both 5-7 and the Dawgs and Jolly Ranchers are tied with Highland High, making it a five team race for two playoff berths. Those very same Dawgs visit the Bungholios this weekend, where the winner keeps their playoff aspiritions alive and the loser likely staying home for the postseason.

Highland High Continues Win-Loss Pattern, Losing This Week To Revival

Tom Brady's four TD tosses weren't enough this week.

The Bungholios have been locked into a pattern. For the last seven weeks Highland High has alternated wins and losses, and this week kept the pattern alive, losing to Revival 110-84. Tom Brady's 4 TDs were not enough.

The loss drops Highland High's record to 4-7 and a four-way tie for third place. The Wolfpack are one game up at 5-6 and the Groin Pullers clinched the division with a record of 8-3. The Bungholios visit the Flounders in this weekend's game.

WTF? Bungholios Sweep Wapiti, In The Thick Of Playoff Chase

Running back Anthony Thomas, pressed into action as soon as he was acquired, came through with 109 yards rushing.

Who would have guessed? Despite the turmiol the roster has seen the Bungholios find themselves in good shape for a playoff spot. Donte Stallworth lead the way with 139 yards receiving and a touchdown, sending the Bungolios to a season sweep of Wapiti 111-94.

The win raises Highland High's record to 4-6 and a four-way tie for second place. The Groin Pullers lead the division at 7-3. The Bungholios host the Revival this coming weekend.

Brady Fails To Deliver, Bungholios Fall

Despite no TDs, Ahman Green still produced with 122 yards rushing.

Highland High has not had luck this year with Tom Brady at QB. His four interceptions doomed any chance for a Bungholio victory, allowing the Wolfpack to prevail 87-75. Ahman Green has rounded back to form, accumulating 130 total yards.

The loss dropped Highland High to 3-6. Wapiti, Wolfpack and Dawgs each are ahead of Highland High by one game while the Groin Pullers lead the division at 6-3. They travel to division-rival Wapiti (4-5) in this weekends matchup.

Favre & Green: Packer Connection Propels Bungholios To Win

Ahman Green showed signs of his former self, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

Ahman Green may be back! He rushed for 106 yards and two TDs and Brett Favre threw for a TD and ran for another, sending the Jolly Ranchers to a 129-103 defeat. This was Favre's third start as Highland High's QB and notched his second win for the team. The win also snapped a 6 game losing streak (including playoffs) to the Jolly Ranchers.

The win pushed Highland High to 3-5 and only one game out of a playoff spot. They trail the 4-4 Wapiti and Dawgs in the standings. The Bunghoilios travel to divisional rival Wolfpack this weekend, who are also 3-5 in the division.

All Time Winninest CFFL Franchise Defeats Bungholios

Another solid outing by Tom Brady went by the wayside as few others contributed.

The Bungholios can't seem to take advantage of a win. The Colonels came into Highland High and came out victorious to the tune of 99-66.

The loss dropped Highland High to 2-5 at the season's half way point and in a three way tie for last place in the division. One of the 2-5 teams, the Jolly Ranchers, will host the Bungholios this weekend. The Bungholios hope to end a stranglehold that the Jolly Ranchers have had on them in recent seasons.

Wolfpack Stumble Hard, Bungholios Cash In

Rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski's suprise start produced two TD passes and a Highland High victory.

The injuries were still there, but the Bungholios mustered some offense. Bruce Gradkowski and T.J. Houshmandzadeh produced well and supplied more than enough production to defeat the Wolfpack 86-37.

The win improved Highland High to 2-4 and suprisingly only two games out of first place and tied recordwise for the third playoff spot. The cautiously-optimistic Bungholios next host the Colonels in an cross divisional matchup.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Buccaneers QB Bruce Gradkowski and Packers RB Noah Herron. Released Packer K Dave Rayner and Titan WR David Givens.

Final Score Says It All: Groin Pullers 59, Bungholios 58

Tom Brady was solid, but he could not compensate for a lineup that was mostly MIA.

With Ahman Green and Donte Stallworth scratched from their respective lineups the Bungholios were in trouble. The Groin Pullers, however, had a difficult time scoring. Alas the Bungholios once again failed to capitalize, falling just one point short, 59-58. The loss dropped Highland High to 1-4, tied for last in the division and tied for the worst record in the league.

Division foe Wolfpack will visit the Bungholios in the week 6 matchup.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Packer K Dave Rayner; dropped Eagle RB Ryan Moats.

Injuries, Ineptitude Fell Bungholios

Kellen Winslow, a former 1st round pick of Highland High, was reacquired as a free agent this season and has produced.

Lightning could not strike twice for Highland High, Brett Favre's second start was the antithesis to his first, Ahman Green and Donte Stallworth didn't play and saw limited action, respectively, and it added up to a thumping by the Dawgs 106-52. One bright spot was former first round pick Kellen Winslow, who contributed with a touchdown.

The 1-3 Bungholios will host the Groin Pullers this coming weekend. The Groin Pullers won their first matchup in week 1 128-75.

Favre Comes Off Bench, Leads Bungholios To First Victory

Brett Favre first appearance as a Bungholio was a memorable one, giving the home fans plenty to cheer about.

Highland High took a chance, benching Tom Brady in favor of Brett Favre in an attempt to spark the team. The move paid off in spades as he threw for 340 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions as he lead the Bungholios past Wapiti 112-87. The victory is the first of the year for the Bungholios who find themselves in better-than-expected shape as no team is undefeated through three weeks. Favre's performance could have him unseat Brady as the starting QB in the coming weeks.

The Bungholios will travel to the Dawgs in another divisional matchup.

Jolly Ranchers Continue Their Dominance Over Bungholios

Donte Stallworth's stellar early season play has already earned him a spot in Highland Highs starting lineup.

The Bungholios caught the defending champion Jolly Ranchers during what would be considered to them as an "off week"...but the Bungholios couldn't capitalize. The Jolly Ranchers sent Highland High to a 92-86 defeat, their seventh such win in their last eight contests versus the Bungholios. Donte Stallworth had a solid day and number one pick DeAngelo Williams saw action and could be in the Bungholio starting lineup sooner than later.

The Bungholios want to turn this hope into wins. They will face Wapiti this coming weekend in a match of winless teams.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired 49ers QB Alex Smith, Jets RB Derrick Blaylock and Browns TE Kellen Winslow Jr. Released Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, Jets B Curtis Martin and Browns WR Joe Jurevicious.

Bungholios Fall Flat In Opener

Tom Brady's two touchdown performance wasn't enough versus division rival Groin Pullers.

It wasn't the way the Bungholios wanted to start 2006. The Groin Pullers came out on fire, hanging a 128-75 defeat on Highland High.

All things considered the Bungholios should feel pretty good. With no secure second starting running back, T.J. Houshmandazeh an 11th hour stratch due to injury and Rod Smith's sub-par performance, the Bungholio's score wasn't as bad as initially expected. Now with Ahman Green a proven commodity this year and the emergence of Donte Stallworth as a receiving threat Highland High has new reason for hope.

The Bungholios will host the Jolly Ranchers in week 2. The Jolly Ranchers are winners of three of the last four CFFL Championships and have had a strong record versus Highland High (winning six of the last seven contests).

New Season, New Hope, New Concerns

The Bungholios hope first round pick DeAngelo Williams will give them long term stability at running back.

Last years playoffs featured the 8-6 Jolly Ranchers and the 7-7 Colonels in the Super Bowl. The 8-6 Bungholios, however, failed to qualify for the playoffs. Such is life in the often crazy CFFL, and the Bungholios are hopeful they can break into the playoffs this year and achieve a higher goal. The last three first round picks, all rookies, have been colossal busts. Highland High has chosen to roll the dice once more on another rookie, selecting Carolina's running back DeAngelo Williams as their top pick in 2006. The buzz on him thus far is good, but the Bungholios hope he can be a firm starter sooner than later as the status of thier longtime starters--Ahman Green and Domanick Davis--is shaky at best.

In less than two weeks the Bungholios will open their season at the Groin Pullers.

Highland High Pounds Flounders, Clinch A Winning Season

Tom Brady's consistent, dependable play again earned him Team MVP honors for the 2005 season.

The Bungholios were hoping the game versus the Flounders would be a primer for the playoffs, but they will have to settle for clinching a winning season. Behind the dependable Tom Brady (329 yards passing and two TDs) the Bungholios sent the Flounders to a 135-95 defeat. The 135 points is a season high for the Bungholios, who will finish the season 8-6. The Flounder loss ensures them the first pick in the upcoming draft.

The Bungholios hope the strong finish--winners of five of their last six contests--will carry over into the 2006 season.

Jolly Ranchers Send Bungholios To Defeat, Eliminating Them From Playoff Contention

Despite two touchdown catches from T.J. Houshmandzadeh (background) the Bungholios will miss out on postseason play again.

Perhaps it was too far a hole to come back from. While it was a good run to make it an interesting playoff chase in their division the Bungholios came up short when they needed victory most. The Jolly Ranchers secured a playoff spot with a 121-97 victory and by virtue of a two-game sweep of Highland High. Both the the division leading Dawgs and Groin Pullers won, clinching the two remaining playoff spots. After a run of six consecutive appearances in the postseason the Bungholios will not be present in the playoffs for the fourth time in five years.

If there is a consolation the Bungholios can secure a winning record in their last regular season game verus the struggling Flounders.

TRANSACTIONS: Reacquired Bronco running back Ron Dayne. Released Packer running back Tony Fisher.

Bungholio's Charge Toward Playoffs Continue With Fourth Straight Win

T.J. Houshmandzadeh's 147 receiving yards and a score kept the hard charging Bungholios in the chase for a playoff berth.

Things are good in Highland High, especially when arguably your best player, Tom Brady, has an off week but still pulls through. T.J. Houshmandzadeh came through with a solid performance as the Bungholios are now winners of four straight games, sending the Llamas to a 100-90 defeat. Domanick Davis's return to the lineup was successful as he found the endzone once.

The win improved the Bungholios to 7-5, tied with the Jolly Ranchers for third in the division. Both the Dawgs and Groin Pullers lead the division at 8-4. All four teams look to acquire one of three playoff berths with two weeks to go. The Bungholios next host the Jolly Ranchers in a game that could decide the playoff fate for both teams. A Highland High win will put them in control for a playoff spot and possibly alive for the division title; a loss could eliminate them from contention.

The Jolly Ranchers defeated the Bungholios back in week 4.

Brady, Bungholios Demote Colonels

Tom Brady: Reliable, consistent and quickly earning team MVP honors.

Tom Brady once again proves why he's the big man on Highland High's campus. He threw for three scores and running back Marion barber came through with two rushing touchdowns as the Bungholios defeat the Colonels 110-68. It was the second straight start for the rookie Barber, who is filling in for the injured Ahman Green.

The win is the third straight for Highland High, and at 6-5 they remain one game behind in the chase for a playoff spot with three games remaining. With losses by the Jolly Ranchers and Groin Pullers (each 7-4, joining the Dawgs who won again) the Bungholios are not only one game behind for a playoff spot they are now one game out of the division lead.

Hoping to keep pace and have a shot at a playoof berth the Bungholios hope for success this weekend as they travel to the Llamas in a cross divisional matchup.

Barber, Jones Run Bungholios Into Playoff Contention In Their First Starts

The last minute acquisition and start of running back Greg Jones paid off in spades.

No Ahman Green, no Domanick Davis, no problem. Greg Jones, an 11th hour acquisition, became a starter as injuries continue to nag Domanick Davis. He responded with a 100 yard, one touchdown performance to help propel the Bungholios over the Groin Pullers 99-89. Marion Barber also got his first start, scoring a touchdown, and Tom Brady came though with another solid outing to help defeat the team with the league's best record.

Virtually left for dead two weeks ago the Bungholios have won their second in a row. They continue to chase down the Dawgs, who lead Highland High by one game for the third and final playoff spot in the division. The Bungholios will next host the Colonels this weekend. Although it is a cross-divisional matchup it is still an important game as each look to improve their playoff position in their respective divisions.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Jaguar running back Greg Jones. Released Packer kicker Ryan Longwell.

Brady Saves Bungholios From Total Futility, Defeat

Bungholio's week 9 offense came almost exclusively from quarterback Tom Brady, who hopes to lead the Bungholios to the postseason.

If it wasn't for Tom Brady, the Bungholios might have set a team mark for futility. He also proved to be the difference versus an equally listless performance from the Wolfpack, sending then to a 65-50 defeat. With both Highland High running backs out due to injuries Tom Brady carried the team with three scoring passes. His performance improved the Bungholios record to 4-5. The victory gave the Bungholios the season sweep versus the Wolfpack.

Although hardly an impressive victory, it is still a win and keeps the Bungholios in the hunt for a playoff spot with five games to go. They are one game behind the 5-4 Dawgs for the third and final spot. This weekend they will face the division leading Groin Pullers, who have a league-best 7-2 record.

TRANSACTIONS: Reacquired Bears quarterback Kyle Orton. Released Browns quarterback Trent Dilfer.

Rancor Buzzsaw Cuts Down Bungholios

Although not putting up he had last year Muhsin Muhammad has been consistent, scoring once this weekend.

The Bungholios played decent, but the Rancors went off. Propelled by Antionio Gates three touchdowns and 100+ yards receiving and Jake Plummer's career day (four TD tosses) the Bungholios lose big 192-98. Bungholio reserve Tony Fisher scored once as did Muhsin Muhammad, Tom Brady and Rod Smith.

After the starting the season 2-0 the Bungholios have one only once in their last six contests. That win came versus the Wolfpack, whom the Bungholios will visit this weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired running back Marion Barber (Cowboys). Released running back Patrick Pass (Patriots).

Bungholios Fall To Defending Champs

Ahman Green's season ending injury compunds the Bungholio's recent woes.

The CFFL has reached the halfway point in the regular season and the Bungholios find themselves in a precarious position. Highland High's record is 3-4 after a 99-66 defeat to the defending champion Molerats. What's more damaging, however, is Ahman Green's season ending injury. The Bungholio's hope that recently acquired Packer running back Tony Fisher can provide a spark. Domanick Davis came through with a productive week (one TD), but the rest of the team did little else. Trent Dilfer, playing for Tom Brady who has a bye, threw for less than 80 yards and had three interceptions.

The Bungholios will next visit the arch-rival Mos Eisley Rancors.

Highland High Finds Some Consistency, Snap Three Game Skid

Rod Smith had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown.

The Bungholios scored modestly, but it was more than enough versus the Wolfpack. Wideout Rod Smith came through with a quality start--over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown--to lead the Bungholios to a 98-44 victory. The win snapped a three game losing streak for Highland High and evened their record at 3-3.

The Bungholios will next host the defending CFFL champion Molerats.

Bungholios Awaken From Scoring Slumber, But...

Tom Brady led the Bunglios with three scoring passes and over 300 yards passing.

After two weeks of subpar scoring the Bungholios came through with their strongest performance of the year; only problem is, the Dawgs came through with an even more impressive performance behind Tim Hasselbeck (two TDs), Shaun Alexander (two TDs), Edgerrin James (over 100 yards rushing) and Torry Holt (100+ yards receiving). Highland High was handed their third straight defeat 149-119. Tom Brady came through for Highland High, throwing for three scores and over 300 yards passing. Reserve running back Najeh Davenport came through with the teams first two rushing touchdowns of the year.

The Bungholios hope the scoring will continue as they next host the Wolfpack.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquire kicker Jay Feely, Chiefs. Drop quarterback Kyle Orton, Bears.

Scoring Slump Continues: Bungholios Drop Second Straight

T.J. Houshmandzadeh has emerged as a quality starter.

Four weeks into the season and the Bungholios have yet to score a rushing touchdown. It does not help that both their starting running backs--Packers Ahman Green and Texans Domanick Davis--are playing for winless teams. Another factor that hurt Highland High was the Jolly Rancher's Marvin Harrison, who historically does well versus the Bungholios and this week was no different. He caught over 100 yards in passes while scoring twice in sending Highland High to defeat 95-56. It is the second week in a row that Highland High scored the fewest points in the league. One bright spot is the emergence of wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh who has firmly entrenched himself as a starter.

The Bunghilios look to break out of their two game funk as they host the Dawgs.

Thud! Bungholios Crash Hard In First Loss

Rod Smith continues to show why he's a Bungholio favorite.

The Bungholios endure their first loss of the young season, a 197-58 drubbing by the Groin Pullers. LaDainian Tomlinson led the Pullers with 191 rushing yard and three scores while trowing for another. Rod Smith scored a touchdown for Highland High while the rest of the team--save for Tom Brady's 300+ yards throwing--did little else. Still, the Bungholios are 2-1 and are in a four way tie for the division lead. Next up...a visit to the Jolly Ranchers.

Highland High: 2-0 To Start Season

Last years team MVP Muhsin Muhammad (87) came through with a touchdown reception.

The team as a whole came through this week. T.J. Houshmandzadeh scored twice in his first start while Domanick Davis and Muhsin Muhammad eached scored once as the Bungholios held off Terrell Owens and the Mos Eisley Rancors 113-87. The win puts them at 2-0 to start the year. While it's a good start versus divisonal opponents they will try for a third straight victory--with cautious optimism--versus the Groin Pullers.

Brady Carries Highland High To Season Opening Victory

Tom Brady demonstrated why he is the foundation of Highland High, throwing for 300 yards and two scores.

It wasn't pretty, and not necessarily the way to start the season, but the Bungholios will take it. Nearly the entire league found scoring difficult, and the Bungholios and Dawgs were no exceptions. Somehow Highland High had just enough, defeating the Dawgs 79-75. One bright note was Tom Brady who came through with a solid 300 yard, two touchdown performance. The victory was the B'holio's 75th regular season win in franchise history. The Bungholios hope to improve their record to 2-0 versus another divisional foe, the arch-nemesis Mos Eisley Rancors this weekend.

New Season, New Opportunity: Bungholios Look For Continued Improvement

Bungholios made rookie running back J.J. Arrington their number one pick.

After two years of drafting rookies number one (and both having their seasons cut short from injuries) Highland High is hoping the third times a charm with running back J.J. Arrington. He won't be expected to start right away so the Bungholios will be patient. He will supply depth to a position that has seen years (Ahman Green) and injuries (Domanick Davis) take their toll. And for the first time in a few years the Bungholios now feel comfortable with their depth at wideout. Marcus Robinson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and rookie Mark Clayton will have a shot to make a name among longtime Bungholio Rod Smith and last years team MVP Muhsin Muhammad. Highland High also got their kicker in Ryan Longwell. While the new infusion of youth and talent will bring hope of success, the Bungholios will count on the steady arm of Tom Brady to take them far.

The Bungholios will open their season at the Dawgs.

December 24 2004
Highland High Upset Rancors, Miss Out On Playoffs

Muhsin Muhammad (87) had an MVP season for Highland High.

Wideouts Muhsin Muhammad and Eric Parker--in his first start--did their part, coming through with quality performances to upset the Rancors 152-101. While the win kept them alive for a playoff spot--and kept the Rancors from winning the division title--the Dawgs defeated the Wolfpack, keeping the Bungholios home for the playoffs. The Dawgs will advance into the second season while the Bungholios will look forward to next year and reflect on the season that was.

Bungholios Roll Past Struggling Wolfpack; Playoff Hopes Faint But Alive

Wideout Muhsin Muhammad's stellar play this season could earn him team MVP honors.

The Bungholios caught a break this week. In a week that saw many teams score in bunches (the Jolly Ranchers scored a league-record 253 points) the Bungholios, scoring only modestly, played the struggling Wolfpack and won easily by a count of 81-26. The win kept the Bungholios alive for a playoff spot, but they will need to defeat the division-leading Rancors and have the Dawgs lose to the 1-12 Wolfpack this weekend.

Jolly Ranchers Roll Past Bungholios

Another solid contribution from running back Domanick Davis.

A healthy Ahman Green likely would not have made a difference. Marvin Harrison and the defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers rolled past the Bungholios 182-89. The loss is Highland High's sixth in their last eight games. Still, they are in decent playoff position with two games to go as both the Dawgs and Groin Pullers also lost. The Bungholios, Dawgs and Groin Pullers are each at 5-7. The Bungholios play 1-11 Wolfack this weekend while the Dawgs go head-to-head with the Groin Pullers

Rancors Send Bungholios To Defeat, Three Way Tie For Third

Domanick Davis (37) was steady but not good enough to beat the Rancors.

After coming into this contest with hope the rest of the season has becone a question mark. Ahman Green, Highland High's franchise player, went down early to injury and is listed as questionable for next weeks game. Although they were respectable they could not keep up with the surging Mos Eisley Rancors, who won 146-91. The loss puts the Bungholios into a three-way tie with the Dawgs and Groin Pullers with three games to go. Next up is the defending CFFL Champion Jolly Ranchers, who already have posted a victory versus the Bungholios back in week 7.

November 16 2004
Bungholios Break Out, Cruise Past Colonels

With another outstanding performance Muhsin Muhammad (87) is cementing his place as a starting Bungholios wideout.

It was a good weekend at Highland High. The roster is becoming more stable, Ahman Green and Domanick Davis are returning to last year's form and Muhsin Muhammad, drafted as the Bungholios eight pick this year, has emerged as a star. Their performances propelled the Bungholios past the Colonels 143-96. The win was very satisfying as Highland High had lost eight straight versus the Colonels, including CFFL Super Bowl V. The win along with the Dawgs losing puts the Bungholios in sole posession of third place with four games to go. The Bungholios next contest will be versus their arch nemesis, Terrel Owens and the first place Mos Eisley Rancors. This will be the first of two meetings for the teams.

Bungholios Run Versus Hot Opponents Continues, Lose Big

Rod Smith (80) had a career day but it wasn't nearly enough.

The Bungholios have caught another opponent who was on fire. This week, it was the Dawgs, who bury Highland High 181-102. The loss dropped the Bungholios to 4-5 and tied for third place in the division to the Dawgs; however the Dawgs own the tie breaker advantage since the Dawgs won both games versus the Bungholios. The Bungholios will try and reverse their fortunes versus the Colonels, who have had their number in recent years.

Muhsin Muhammad has solidified himself as a presence on the Bungholio roster.

The Bungholios faced another opponent this week who scored in bunches, but this week the Bungholios had answers. Ahman Green and Tom Brady came through while wideout Muhsin Muhammad's best performace of the year launched Higland High past the Llamas 151-130. The 151 points are a season high for the Bungholios who will try and carry the momentum next week as the face the Dawgs.

Highland High Routed For Third Straight Week

Ahman Green's breakout performance wasn't nearly enough for the Bungolios.

For the second straight week the Bungholios played a team that simply went off. This time it was versus Priest Holmes and the defending CFFL Champion Jolly Ranchers, who cruised to a 162-97 win. Ahman Green finally erupted with a great game; Priest Holmes, however, trumphed Green's performance with one of the year's most explosive performances. The Bungolios will try and end their string of blowout losses as they face the Spitting Llamas.

Bungholios Blown Out For Second Straight Week

Running back Ahman Green's first career touchdown pass went for naught this weekend.

Another week, another injury. Again. Reche Caldwell joins the list of Bungholio players lost for the year due to injury. Even a healthy Caldwell would likely made little difference versus Dante Culpepper and the Molerats, who rolled 168-76. The Molerats remain undefeated while the Bungholios, blown out in their last two games, will do their best to turn it around against division rival and defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers.

October 14 2004
Injuries, Subpar Performances Bury Bungholios

Tom Brady could not save the Bungholios from a dismal performance this week.

Another week, another injury. DeShawn Foster join teammates Charles Rogers, Kellen Winslow Jr. and Charlie Garner as players who are done for the year. Foster's injury, along with subpar performance almost acrossed the board, made it easy for the Groin Pullers as they prevailed 101-49. Tom Brady was the lone bright spot, throwing for a pair of touchdowns. Highland High will next face the undefeated Molerats this coming weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Jonathan Wells, RB, Texans. Dropped Najeh Davenport, RB, Packers.

Brady And Company Squeak Out Another Win

Tom Brady and the Bungholios outduelled Peyton Manning and the Flounders.

Although Ahman Green as thus far struggled the rest of the team has been up to the task. Tom Brady is the front runner for team MVP with another strong outing, and newly acquired wideout Reche Caldwell delivered big time as the Bungholios defeated the Flounders, last year's super runner-ups, to a 112-103 score. Highland High improves to 3-1 on the season. The Bungholio's next oppontnet will be the division rival Groin Pullers.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Kerry Collins, QB, Raiders and Daniel Graham, TE, Patriots. Dropped Charlie Garner, RB, Buccaneers and Dante Hall, WR, Chiefs.

Carney Boots Bungholios To Victory

The difference this week was kicker John Carney's monster game.

John Carney came through with a monster game, and the Bungholios needed every bit of it. He kicked five field goals--two from 50 yards and beyond--that allowed the Bungholios to squeak past the Wolfpack by one point, 86-85. The Bungholios endure another season ending injury; running back Charlie Garner, who figured to contribute as a backup, is now lost for the year. He joins wideouts Charles Rogers and tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. as key injuries. Still, the Bungholios enter this weekend's contest with last year's Super Bowl runner ups--the Flounders--with a 2-1 record.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Reche Caldwell, WR, Chargers. Dropped Samie Parker, WR, Chiefs.

Losses Mounting For Bungholios

Tom Brady was a bright sport in an eyesore of a loss.

Already two weeks into the season and the Bungholios lose another young top round draft choice. Kellen Winslow, their top pick this year, joins Charles Rogers--the Bungholio's top pick of last year who was injured for most of last season--on the injured list. Both are likely done for the year. The team's youth movement plan has taken its toll and leaves the team dangerously thin at the wideout position. Amidst the injuries the Bungholios lose to the Dawgs 132-94. The big three of Tom Brady, Domanick Davis and Ahman Green again contributed with the bulk of the scoring and will be counted on to carry the load the rest of the way. The Bungholios will face the Wolfpack this coming weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Dante Hall, WR, Chiefs. Dropped A.J. Feely, QB, Dolphins.

Bittersweet Opener: Bungholios Cruise

2003 Bungholio MVP Ahman Green continued where he left off last season.

The Bungholios won their opener, but it came with a price. The trio of Tom Brady, Ahman Green and Domanick Davis came through with monster performances to down the Groin Pullers 140-91. The downside: Wideout Charles Rogers, their number one pick of a year ago, is out for the year due to injury. The Bungholios face last year's division champs, the Dawgs, this coming weekend.

September 15 2004
Promise Of A New Year

Tom Brady is entrenched as the Bungholio's starting quarterback.

The Bungholios continue their movement toward youth and potential stars with the addidtion of Cleveland rookie tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr. Although they did not get the man they originally wanted--rookie wideout Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals--they feel Winslow can be productive in time. There is one certainty in Bubngholio land: They will go as far as running backs Ahman Green, Domanick Davis and quarterback Tom Brady will take them.

Jolly Ranchers Rout Bungholios Out Of Playoffs

Despite the loss, Tom Brady's playoff performance may have solidified his spot as starting QB next season.

The Bungholios made the playoffs in what was to be a rebuilding year. The Jolly Ranchers, however, showed why they are the defending CFFL Champions. With a loaded roster that includes running backs Clinton Portis and Priest Holmes, along with wideouts Marvin Harrison and Chad Johnson, the Jolly Ranchers overwhelmed the Bungholios to a score of 162-87. The loss was the Bungholios' most lopsided of the year. Still, Tom Brady and team MVP Ahman Green came through with good performances. The Jolly Ranchers will continue on to face division leading Dawgs. The Bungholios will spend the offseason to improve the roster and make another run in the CFFL's 10th year.

December 12 2003
Bungholios Go Into Postseason On Losing Note

Different week, same story: Ahman Green with another quality outing.

The Bungholios wanted to win their finale to keep their momentum going, but injuries and ineptitude at the receiver positions doomed the Bungholios to a loss in their regular season finale. The Groin Pullers bested the Bungholios 87-75. The Bungholios hope to bounce back strong this weekend, which will be their first playoff game since the 2000 season. They will face Priest Holmes and the defending CFFL Champion Jolly Ranchers.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Marcus Robinson, WR, Ravens. Dropped Mike Anderson, RB, Broncos.

December 3 2003
Bungholios Are Playoff Bound!

Domanick Davis (37), despite this fumble, propelled the Bungholios back into the postseason.

The season started as a rebuilding year will end with a run into the postseason. Rookie running back Domanick Davis came through with one of the team's few solid performances, but it was enough against struggling arch-nemesis Rancors. The Bungholios earned a playoff berth with the 85-64 victory. The playoffs will start in two weeks versus the defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers. The regular season concludes this week with the Bungholios taking on the Groin Pullers.

November 26 2003
Bungholios On The Verge Of Postseason

Tom Brady gutted out another quality outing, propelling the Bungholios closer to the playoffs.

After a two year postseason absence the Bungholios can now sniff the playoffs. Tom Brady and Ahman Green were catalysts to the Bungholios 111-74 victory over the Molerats. The win not only avenged an early loss to the Eastern Division foe but it also put the Bungholios in excellent position to clinch the final playoff spot. A Bungholio win or a Groin Puller loss will send the Bungholios into the playoffs. Should the Bungholios lose and Groin Pullers win this weekend, the last game will almost certainly decide it as both teams will face each other in the season finale. This weekend, however, the Bungholios will collide versus arch-nemesis Rancors while the Groin Pullers take on the division champion Dawgs. As an added note, the Jolly Ranchers, tied with the Bungholios at 7-5, clinced a playoff spot based on their head-to-head record with the Groin Pullers. Whichever team clinches the third playoff spot will face the defending CFFL Champion Jolly Ranchers in the first round.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Tyrone Wheatley, RB, Raiders. Dropped James Thrash, WR, Eagles.

November 21 2003
Colonels End Bungholio Win Streak

Rod Smith (80) provides a Bungholio highlight with a punt return TD.

It was fun while it lasted. Rod Smith and Ahman Green were the star performers for the Bungholios, but it was not enough versus the Colonels who are also fighting for playoff positioning. The Colonels snapped the Bungholios three-game win streak with a 119-80 victory behind solid contributions from Marshall Faulk and Anquan Boldin. Although the division title is all but mathematically out fo reach the Bungholios are still in good shape for the playoffs. They are tied for second place with the Jolly Ranchers and two games ahead of the Groin Pullers with three games to go. This weekend they take on Eastern Divison foe Molerats for the second time. The Bungholios are looking to exact revenge as the Molerats won the first encounter back in week two.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Najeh Davenport, RB, Packers. Dropped Arlen Harris, RB, Rams.

November 13 2003
Bungholios Continue Winning Ways Over Divison Foes

Ahman Green continues his push for potential league MVP.

The Bungholios are making a late season push for the playoffs. Behind another monster game from Ahman Green and solid performances from rookie tailback Domanick Davis and quarterback Brad Johnson the Bungholios defeat the defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers 118-88. It was the Bungholio's third straight victory, all versus the top teams in their division. Highland High currently sits along in second place in their divison, two games behind the Dawgs, one up on the Jolly Ranchers and two up on the Groin Pullers with four games to go. The Bungholios will face the Colonels this weekend.

November 5 2003
Bungholios Win Second Straight

Tom Brady came through with the best performance by a Bungholio quarterback this year.

The Bungholios were finally able to enjoy a stellar performance from the quarterback position. Tom Brady's three touchdown, 350 yard effort along with Ahman Green's usual solid outing propelled the Bungholios over Torry Holts and the Dawgs 142-121. The loss was only the Dawgs second of the season. The Bungholios will attempt to take sole posession of second place in the division as they take on division rival and defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers this weekend. Both teams currently share the same record with the Jolly Ranchers victorious in an earlier meeting this season.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Terry Glenn, WR, Cowboys. Dropped Owen Pochman, K, 49ers.

October 29 2003
Rookie Running Backs Power Bungholios

The Bungholios may have found their running back of the future in Domanick Davis.

No Ahman Green, no Charlie Garner, no problem. With both Bungholio starting running backs out due to byes (along with kicker Ryan Longwell) rookies Domanick Rhodes and Arlen Harris stepped up big time, leading the Bungholios to a convincing 133-64 victory. Antwaan Randle-El and Dante Hall also had strong performances. The Bungholios will attempt to keep their hold on third place for the third playoff spot as they take on the western division-leading Dawgs this weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Arlen Harris, RB, Rams and Owen Pochman, K, 49ers. Released running backs Mike Cloud, Patriots and Larry Johnson, Chiefs.

October 22 2003
Bungholios Lose Second Straight Game

Brad Johnson's first start this year was a forgettable one.

It has reached the halfway point in the fantasy season and the Bungholios find themselves in a two-game losing streak with a tough 59-54 defeat to the Dawgs. Brad Johnson's unusually weak performance led to the team's demise. The Bungholios will attempt to snap the streak versus the Groin Pullers this weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Domanick Davis, RB, Texans. Released D'Wayne Bates, WR, Vikings.

October 16 2003
Bungholios Drops One To The Dawgs

Ahman Green and the Bungholios lost one despite a strong effort.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Dante Hall, WR, Chiefs and Mike Cloud, RB Patriots. Released Mike Alstott, RB, Buccaneers and Antonio Freeman, WR, Packers.

October 8 2003
Bungholios Already Match Win Total Of Last Season

Ahman Green has been slowed very little this year.

While Ahman Green continues to perform at an incredible clip--this past weekend was no exception--wideout Rod Smith came through with his first quality performance. As a result the Bungholios match their win total of last season (three) with the 102-86 victory over the Llamas. The Bungholios face the division rival Dawgs this weekend.

October 1 2003
Bungholios Lose Barnburner

Ahman Green contributed with a career day.

Ahman Green had a career rushing day and Tom Brady, Charlie Garner and Charles Rogers came through with solid performances. The Bungholios, however, ran into a Jolly Rancher team that came to life. Behind monster performances by Marvin Harrison and Rich Gannon the defending champs prevailed 170-135. The Bungholios next opponent: The Spitting Llamas.

September 23 2003
As Ugly As It Gets

One of the few Bungholio highlights was this Tom Brady touchdown, which helped secure the victory.

It was far from convincing, pretty or even good, but the Bungholios will take it. Tom Brady and Ryan Longwell provided nearly all of the Bungholio points, but it was enough verus an equally dreadful Rancor performance. The Bungholios surivive and win their second game 50-48. Highland High will take on the defending CFFL champion Jolly Ranchers this weekend.

September 17 2003
Bungholios Fall Just Short

Running back Ahman Green once again led the Bungholios.

Despite another strong outing by Ahman Green the Bungholios could not overcome the Molerats. Behind a stellar performance by wideout Eric Moulds the Molerats defeated the Bungholios 119-96. The Bungholios will face the arch-rival Mos Eisley Rancors this coming weekend.

TRANSACTIONS: Acquired Antonio Freeman, WR, Packers. Released James McKnight, WR, Dolphins.

September 9 2003
Sir Charles Has Arrived

The focus may be on the future, but the present became a whole lot brighter for Bungholio nation. Rookie Charles Rogers scored a pair of touchdowns in his debut as the Bungholios upended the Wolfpack 99-77. Running backs Ahman Green and Charlie Garner also contributed with solid performances. The Bungholios will take on the Molerats this coming weekend.

August 2003

The Bungholio's future will feature Charles Rogers.

After a two year absence from the CFFL playoffs, the Bungholios came into the draft looking to load up for future seasons. Bungholio nation rejoiced as rookie wideout Charles Rogers was selected first overall in the draft. Many have already compared him to the Viking's Randy Moss, but without the attitude.

...and yes, this is a new site devoted to the Bungholio fantasy football team. Please check back for updates.
